Why a Plan Before Plants
The most common landscape mistake in West Tennessee: someone buys 30 plants at a big-box store on a Saturday and puts them where there’s room. Two years later half of them are dying, the rest are the wrong scale, and the bed line looks accidental. A design figures out what fits where before you spend on plants — sun exposure, mature size, soil pH, water needs, color sequence through the seasons.
Our Process
- Site visit — we walk the property, measure, take photos, ask what you want to use the yard for
- Concept — we sketch options, talk through trade-offs, agree on scope and budget range
- Plan — to-scale drawing with plant list, hardscape detail, grading notes, lighting if needed
- Phasing — bigger projects often break into 2–3 phases over a season or two; we plan it so each phase looks finished on its own
- Installation — we install what we designed, or hand off plans for you to use with another crew if you prefer
Drainage Is Half the Job
Jackson sits on heavy clay soil with seasonal saturation. Beds and lawns that don’t drain right kill plants, rot retaining walls, and ruin patios. We grade plans to actually move water — swales, French drains, properly built berms, surface drains where needed. Pretty landscapes that don’t drain are landscapes you’ll replace in five years.

How We Price Professional Landscaping Design
